Preschool

Can you believe it is time for preschool?

With Maya moving away we wanted to find a preschool where they could hopefully stay from now until kindergarten so they would not have to transition again. The search was not easy but we ended up finding a place the boys seem to love. It is loud and crazy so they fit right in. Their class is for  kids 18 month to 30 months.

Transitioning from in-home care to a preschool meant lots of changes for P&L. We had two weeks to transition them to one nap a day that didn't start until 12:45 p.m. They would be sleeping on little cots with napmats not cribs and eating family style for lunch with with all the other kids at a cute little table with chairs no high chairs with straps. They also had to learn to use real cups not sippies. I was skeptical to say the least. I figured Peyton would do well with the cots and naptime since he will lay himself down on a blanket if he is tired but I didn't know how in the world they would keep Liam down or how the boys would do at a regular table.

We had fun picking out napmats, lunch boxes and marking their lovies and clothes to get ready.

I am happy to report that over the last two weeks the boys have done GREAT! They really like their school. They were a little hesitant the first day but after a few minutes warmed right up and on day two they ran in the door and didn't even look back to see if I was there.

They have gotten used to the nap schedule and the cots. Liam threw his carrots at other kids on day one but has since been very cooperative at lunch and snack times. The teachers love how much the boys say "thank you."

Their days are so exciting that the boys crash and sleep well all night. We had to move their bedtime from 7 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. because they are so tired when they get home. Jeff and I love the art projects they bring home and their vocabulary is definitely growing.

Cutest nap mats ever

Cutest lunch boxes ever

Peyton loved "practicing" with his nap mat

Liam wouldn't stay in his and loved tackling Peyton

Liam was much better with the lunch box
