Preschool has been wonderful for them, they love all the little songs and routines. We must sing Itsy Bitsy Spider a thousand times a day, they love doing all the hand motions. They also love "If your happy and you know it."
Peyton has started the cutest habit that grew from the if your happy and you know it song. Whenever he is really happy...usually when he gets his favorite snack or if we get to the park or anything he thinks is great happens he puts his hands to his face and say HAPPY! It is his way of telling us things are great and it melts my heart every single time.
Liam's preschool teacher loves to tell us tales of his adventures when we pick him up. The latest was how he scared her to death by running full speed (and with L that is fast) when he realized everyone else was heading in for lunch, what got the teacher was that when he came to the stairs he never slowed. She freaked and ran over thinking for sure he was gonna splat...but no little Liam leaped down all the stairs without even pausing and ran past her. She said in all her year's she has never seen anything like him. Since I spend a lot of time chasing him, I wasn't surprised at all ;)
Every month we have less and less furniture in our living room. We had to say goodbye to the end table recently, the boys used to climb onto it if it was next to the couch but if we moved it a few feet away it was safe. Well they can now climb it no matter where it is, when Liam did it we sighed but once Peyton joined in too it had to go since they would play their version of King of the Mountain on it and it was just a matter of time before someone cracked their skull on our Mexican tile.
We bought the boys a baseball tee and are having fun teaching them how to swing and hit the ball. Peyton loves to swing and Liam is more of a bunter.
They had what counts as their two year check up (you can do it between 21-24 months) and the doctor confirmed they are healthy and crazy. They literally bounce off the walls whenever we are stuck in those little exam rooms forever. They survived their two shots but it is definitely getting more traumatic the older they get.
Liam went from the 3rd percentile in weight for his age to the 4th WOO HOO (hey it's something!) and he is in the 20th percentile for height. Peyton is in the 13th percentile for weight and the 61st percentile for height, he is turning into a tall and skinny toddler instead of a baby.
Their favorite book right now is by far No No Yes Yes by Leslie Patricelli they love scolding the baby in the book by wagging their finger and saying No No No. They even call it the No No No book, totally ignoring the yes yes part. Jeff is afraid the book is just giving them ideas for things they shouldn't do but I am confident they would (and do) think of all the mischievous things on their own we can't blame the innocent book.
If you come over to our house and the boys stick their feet in your face and demand "WEE WEE" don't be alarmed, they just REALLY like the "this little piggie" game and may demand to do it to your toes too...you have been warned :)
